Meena is a beloved cartoon character hailing from South Asia. She embodies the spirit of a determined nine-year-old girl who fearlessly confronts challenges.

The Meena character has gained widespread popularity by addressing the key issues that resonate with children her age. The stories revolve around Meena's adventures alongside her brother Raju, her pet parrot Mithu, and various members of her family and community.

Meena was first introduced to audiences in Bangladesh with the broadcast of "Count Your Chickens," a film showcasing her struggle to attend school. This aired on national television in 1993. Since then, Meena has starred in 26 television films and has expanded into radio programs, comics, and books. Every year, UNICEF releases new Meena stories that captivate audiences in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan. Meena episodes have also been dubbed into local languages and aired on TV in Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam.
